Let's Talk Florals: The Flowers Behind the Glass

Let's Talk Florals: The Flowers Behind the Glass

From a classic wedding bouquet to decadent casket spray, floral arrangements vary dramatically, as do the flowers they consist of. Each arrangement is made up of many different flower types and greenery.

Prior to finding myself in the flower world, I knew quite little about different types of flowers, and even less about what certain flowers looked like once pressed. While most of the time pressed flowers are easily identifiable with their original form, they can still look quite different than people may realize.

Fresh flowers have beautiful dimension, texture, intricate designs, and delicate petals; once they've been pressed and preserved, they change and adopt a new form, very different, but beautiful in a new way. Not fresh and sprightful and full of life, but frozen in time, captured in a specific moment, saved from their fate, and staying that way forever.

It may be helpful as a bride putting together the perfect bridal bouquet, to know some of the most common flowers we see in wedding bouquets and to know what they look like in their pressed form. Different pressed flowers create different aesthetics, textures, and shapes. To know what your bridal bouquet will look like once it's been pressed & preserved, may influence which flowers you end up choosing. Afterall, your pressed wedding bouquet will be with you forever, so let's make sure you know what your wedding flowers will look like.

This piece was custom made gallery piece, dimensions 30x22, ivory backing, and a custom walnut roasted frame.

This frame holds a lot of typical wedding florals that you'll find in a typical wedding bouquet: roses, peonies, spray roses, ranunculus, snap dragons, lisianthus, and individually pressed hydrangeas sprinkled throughout.

When selecting your wedding bouquet preservation, it may be beneficial to know what certain flowers look like once they've been preserved. When selecting what flowers will be in your wedding bouquet, I would also consider what those flowers will look like once they're in their pressed form.

All pressed wedding flowers are beautiful in their own way, because those were the flowers you carried on your wedding day. They carry the memories, sentiment, and love shared on your wedding day.

Below are some more Forgiven Flower pressed wedding bouquet frames & styles, with more examples of what common wedding flowers look like once they've been pressed, preserved, styled, and designed in a frame.
